The Friends of the Capitans is a local grass-roots organization which formed for the purpose of stopping the destruction of our National Forest by El Capitan PMI, a speculative drilling company from Nevada. We are based in the historic community of Capitan, Lincoln County, New Mexico among some of the most beautiful national forests in the Southwest. We are citizens and homeowners, ranchers, business owners, retirees, parents & children gravely concerned about any additional exploration or potential mining planned for our beloved mountains.
